| Konnichiha biatches. I went to Hooters with some friends from work last night to watch Duke vs. UNC. Contrary to what you're probably thinking right now, we did not go for the actual hooters. There are probably several reasons for that, and I'll lay a couple of them out for you right now. As a disclaimer, let me go ahead and say that these reasons are specific to the hooters in downtown Memphis...not necessarily nationwide as I haven't been to many of them. On that note..
1) I think a few most of them may have some form of the disease that won't go away. 2) I'm not sure so there the kind of girls I'd want to bring home to meet the parents.
Anyhow, I hope that didn't come off too harsh and if it did I'll apologize. But I felt I should be honest.
Moving on...I really enjoy my job most of the time. Right now it's hectic, but I'm ok with that. There are lots of perks and I'll be taking advantage of one of those this weekend. I was planning on driving to Shreveport for the weekend to see the family and hang out, but I have to go down to Baton Rouge Sunday evening to interview some possible interns on Monday. This will now allow me to fly to Shreveport on "Uncle D" and then rent a car for the drive down to Baton Rouge on Sunday. I'm more than ok with that.
I'm looking forward to some concerts coming up this spring. Son Volt is playing tonight. Sheryl Crow is coming to the Orpheum next month. I'm going to Chicago to see David Gilmour (of Pink Floyd) in April, and I just read that Better than Ezra is playing in Shreveport the weekend after that. Needless to say, I plan on attending that one as well. Beale Street Music Fest is in May and that's always a good time...although so far the only band I've heard will be there is Train...not a fan. I may step up and go see Toby Keith next weekend, but am still undecided on that. I won't be seeing nickelback at anytime.
Finally, after getting railed by my friend Kim about my page sucking, I've decided to try and remedy that. Unfortunately I don't take the time to familiarize myself with the different tools available to spice my page up. However, I'll accept any input or ideas anyone has to offer.
Ok, time to get to work. If you are in Shreveport or Ruston, feel free to let me know what's going on or invite me to dinner. Thanks.
| Weekends have always gone by fast, but it seems they go by a lot faster since I got out of college and started working. Oh well, what can you do?
I layed low for the most part this weekend. I think it's part of my new year's resolution to get in better shape, although I guess it could be that I'd rather just not do anything sometimes. So Friday night I watched a few movies. Ever since my trip to Savannah, GA a couple of months ago, I've wanted to watch "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil" again. I'd read the book and seen the movie before, but it had been a while. I finally found it at Tower Records so decided it would be the first feature of the night. I wouldn't say it's the most exciting movie of the last 15 or 20 years, but it definitely provides good insite to the feeling I had while in Savannah. As I mentioned in one of my previous blogs, Savannah is a really neat city that I would highly recommend checking out sometime if you haven't already. And if you haven't seen the movie, I'd recommend you check that out too. Kevin Spacey and John Cusak star, and it's one of Jude Law's earlier appearances as well.
I had decided to watch "Varsity Blues" next, but during the time it took me to get some dinner and change DVDs, I noticed "The Notebook" was about to start on Encore. I'd heard about how good of a movie this was, but that it was something you'd want to watch with a laday. Although I didn't have the company of a lady Friday night, I decided to watch it anyway (mainly because I realized Rachel McAdams was in it). I fully intend on being ridiculed for saying this, but "The Notebook" has definitely made my top 10 movies of all time list. I won't get into details about how it made me feel, the realness it presents, yada yada yada...I'll just say that I thoroughly enjoyed it and will probably watch it again sometime...hopefully with a female.
In order to redeem my manhood, I finished the night with Varsity Blues. It's no Friday Night Lights, but it was entertaining nonetheless.
I managed to continue my half marathon (march 17) training schedule and ran 8 miles on Saturday. It hurt, but my friend Christy told me that if I can do 8 then I can do 13. I hope she's right.
I went out with a few friends for a bit on Saturday night, went to church this morning, then watched football all day. I spent the evening hanging out with my buddy Jason and his wife, Aprille. They are expecting their first kid in July, and they have a sweet house. I think I'll have them decorate for me once I become a homeowner.
I guess it's time I get to bed. Hope everyone has a good week. One more thing...it is imperative you check out this incredible song and video entitled, "the adultress". As painful as it may be, watch the entire thing. You won't be disappointed.

| I went back to LA for the weekend to see the family and hang out with some friends. I stopped in Ruston Saturday night to see Jarrett and his band play at Ponchatoulas. I managed to lend a hand on the Stevie Wonder classic, "Supersticious" which was a lot of fun. I'm still in shock Jarrett actually allowed me to sing. I had a great time and it was good to see Weston, David Lee, Eric, Katie, and Aimee
I spent most of Saturday with my family. My sister is about a month and a half away from having their baby (John David) so everyone is getting really excited about that. It's crazy to think that she's going to be a mom soon, but I have really seen her take on certain "motherly" traits the past several months. (I've also seen her stomach grow to the point of looking like it's about to pop. My two year old cousin, Addison, likes to rub my sister's stomach and say things like "John David, come out and play...I won't hurt you." She also made the comment after dinner a few nights ago that John David had somehow migrated into her stomach.) Saturday night I went out with some friends in Shreveport. Mike Seal and I managed to hit up Oyster Bar for some food before going up to the Steakhouse and Fat's. As usual, it was a good time although I was really happy to get back to my grandmother's and into bed.
The remainder of my weekend back in LA was spent with the family. As much as I enjoy Memphis, my job, friends here, etc.; there's nothing like the feeling I have when I drive up to my grandmother's for a weekend visit. As is the case with lots of families, there is something about family's relationship that is too special to put into words. I would give anything to be able to have the career opportunity I have here, back home. Unfortunately, that isn't the case at this time. I'm ok with that, but that sure doesn't change the fact that I miss some people like crazy.
I stopped in Ruston again on my way back to Memphis yesterday and visited with Stacey Hammond, Jordan, Brittany, and Weston. I love those guys and hope to spend more time keeping in touch with all of them. Thanks for hanging out.
Last but not least....I think I have a crush on someone for the first time in a long time.
| To all of you who I "upset" or "tricked" on the last email, I apologize. Just keep in mind that I feel for it too. On a side note, I sent it to one of my managers at work who then passed it on to several partners. Let's just say that some of their answers were interesting...
I hate keep bringing this up (ok, actually i don't), but I hope some of you will be around to hang out in Ruston tonight. I'm planning on meeting up with Weston around 8:30 or 9 and then heading up to Ponchatoula's to watch my buddy Jarrett's band play. Weston and I hope to sit in on a rendition of Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get it On". I will be showcasing my true vocal talents during that time so I know you don't want to miss out on that.
Tomorrow I'm meeting some friends at Oyster Bar for dinner. Any and all are invited to that if you're in the Shreveport area.
Say it ain't so... | | |

This is pretty funny, but interesting.
Ponchatoulas tomorrow night? I'll be in Ruston by 8 p.m. or so I believe. Hope to see some of you.
